I played guitar and sang back-up vocals in a punk rock band. "Punk rock" is really the wrong term for it, but it was heavy and very loud. We were called "Sick Little Monkey" for many years, and then for a while "World War Five". We were a three-piece as Sick Little Monkey, but added a second guitar for World War Five. We tried to make a go of things in Austin and in New York. We had some near brushes with fame, and some really good gigs. We released a single, on vinyl, and recorded enough for an album. We eventually broke up when our bass/vocals Jon left for Australia, and the rest of us didn't want to go on without him.

I haven't included all of our music here, but I've included a few bits that I personally think are representative or show me off. Unfortunately there aren't any good recordings of World War Five, since we didn't go to a studio during the last years of the band. So you'll hear me, Jon, and Andy (the drummer). Included is our single, Swill (which was written before I joined the band, in a considerably different version). Also included is Meteorite, the song to which I wrote all three parts (and sang). Elbowphone is our poppy number, and Custom Deluxe is our instrumental. Custom Deluxe is really the best, to me. I've also added Laramie, on which I sung and wrote lyrics.

My family's full of professional musicians. You should seek them out.
