I had a "prototypes" class at the Game Center with Bennett Foddy. We had to come up with a new game every week, based on a theme he would suggest. One of the themes was a game an alien would understand. I created "Kronos". You play one orb which consumes pellets. When you grow large enough, you create another creature which turns those pellets into harmful pellets. When that creature grows large enough it creates a creature which turns harmful pellets back into food pellets. Thus your "children" are your enemies, but your "grandchildren" are your friends. The game was originally written in java, but I rewrote it in GameMaker because of memory issues. It requires a fair bit of patience to play, as it is slow-moving. Then again, it was written in the course of a few days. To download the game, click "download". You move your orb by moving the mouse. Once you have completed a game, you can start over by pressing any key. |
